Capt Mark Chin,Training Officer

After graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, Maj Mark Chin joined a local police department where he has been an officer for almost 30 years with the last 12 as a detective.  In 2016, he joined the Granbury Composite Squadron and quickly became a mission scanner, mission observer, search and rescue/disaster relief mission pilot, and cadet orientation pilot.  In 2018, due to events at the squadron, he was appointed as Deputy Commander for Cadets and discovered a new passion.  He is now heavily involved with helping young adults reach their maximum potential.  He served as squadron commander from Dec 2019-Apr 2025 and is currently serving as the Granbury Composite Squadron’s education and training officer and is on Group 6 staff as the Cadet Programs Officer.  Maj Chin is also a Volunteer University Instructor (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, and Squadron Commander’s Course). As a SET for GTM3, GTM2, GTM1, GTL, MO, MS, and UDF he enjoys teaching both cadets and seniors in the realm of emergency services.
